Solution for Distraught Disabled Veteran
The Sarasota office was contacted by a veteran who is a single mother – one child 2, the other just turned 5 – and discovered Veterans’ Outreach through dialing 211. She is 100% disabled and has no credit background. Because of that, she was charged a very high startup fee by her utility company. The veteran suffers from PTSD and is a victim of MST (Military Sexual Trauma). She had difficulty managing the large payment and it has set her back on her regular utility bill which is now 2 months behind. We immediately covered as much as we could and also referred her to other veteran support services.
